Affirmative Action: From Tun Razak to Datuk Seri Najib

A LEADER'S LEGACY TUN ABDUL RAZAK

Tun Abdul Razak, Malaysia's second Prime Minister, the father of development is one of the great leaders in our country. And his son, Datuk Seri Najib is the current Prime minister of Malaysia. Tun Abdul Razak is the person responsible creating affirmative action in Malaysia by introducing New Economic Policy(NEP) which favors malay in form of economic importance. While Datuk Seri Najib , popularly known for his One Malaysia, do things rather differently from his father. With the concept of One Malaysia , it is a concept where all Malaysian are equal, as one, not caring about race, colors or position. But his father, created the affirmative action so that they will be no more poor people in this country, especially Malay. This is because during that time, most poor people in our country are malays. But from what we can see nowadays, there are many poor Malays compare to other races. This means that our current Prime Minister does not continuing his father legacy which primarily in affirmative action.

Ghandi: Father of nation vs Father of Harilal

Gandhi: My father

After watching this movie, people must thought that Gandhi is a bad father. His son Harilal died as a an alcoholic 2 years after his father death. He went to his father funeral which most of the people did not recognize him. Did Gandhi the one to be responsible for the tragic end of his son, Harilal Ghandi? I will say yes.

As a father a nation, it is his duty to devotes his life towards the country. However, as a father in a family, it is his responsibility towards his sons. The mistakes that Gandhi made is he neglected what his son wanted which is education. He is an inspirational, a one in a million person, however he is still human. He is still responsible towards his family. If you want to devote your life to the country, you can do that, but don't have family. even the life of the nation depend on you, the life of your family also depends on you. It is your blood that need to protect. That is why Gandhi have no successor. Because he has failed as a father to his family. And i blame him for the tragic end of his son Harilal.

Gandhi, failure or success?

Gandhi(1982)

Watching Gandhi(1982) truly inspired me a lot. Before this, i only know Ghandi who is the father of independence of India. I always thinks that our father of independence, Tunku Abdul Rahman as the same as Ghandi. But i was wrong. Ghandi is a masterpiece. He is an inspirational. He opens the world eyes. He is not only the father of independence, he is the innovator of non-violence concept. Though all the praise i have given to him, there is a question that struck in my mind. Do he succeed in his work life which is to promote non violence and uniting the people of India.

Then my answer will be no. He did not succeed. Why?As to promote non violence, the people of India still use violence in order to get independece. However, is this Ghandi fault? Absolutely not. Because of the violence the British army had done to the people of India, no wonder they fight back using violence.

Uniting the people is not and easy task. Though at some point Gandhi managed to unite people to stands against the British, he didn't managed to unite people against each other. However, is this Ghandi fault? Absolutely not. For my opinion, it is the Pakistan leader who created havoc amongst the Hindu-Muslim because Gandhi fights for both Hindu and Muslim but Jinnah only fight for the Muslim.
Though Gandhi was a great man, he still failed to succeed in his work life. However, it does not matter to the Indian people, because if not for this failure man, India will not gain Independence.

Sherlock : Emphatic or Phsycopath

Sherlock : A study in pink
Sherlock is truly an amazing person. He can easily described a person and their background by just looking at their appearance. He can solve mystery easily and something that a normal person can't do. However, his personality is something people love to hate or even people really hate it. Is Sherlock an emphatic person?Or is he just another psychopath?
In the episode A study in pink, the Sergeant Sally Donovan doesn't like Sherlock, even telling Dr. Watson to stay away from him and calling him a psychopath. Many people around Sherlock are unsure what to make of his behavior. They also brand him as sociopaths, psychopathic, or just machine-like, because he does not react normally to other people’s feelings. However, Sherlock described himself as "a high function sociopath". He actually is not a sociopath also. When he first met Dr. Watson, the doctor were surprised on how Sherlock can know about his background. He is also surprised when Sherlock knows that he is the one who shot the criminal.
So how can he do all this? This is because Sherlock is an empathic person. Cognitive empathy is the ability to understand what others are thinking- to "read" from their words and behavior what they really mean as apposed what they explicitly say, and truly understand how they think and feel about a situation.Other than that, the way he solves the crime is by being empathy, being in the victims head and also the criminal head. Because of this empathy, sometimes Sherlock protects the suspects because he believes that they are innocent. So, it is true that Sherlock is not a psychopath nor a sociopath, he is actually an emphatic person.

oh..I didn't see that coming......

TEST YOUR BRAIN EP. 1

Oh..i didn't see that coming..Watching the episode of Test your brain really tested my brain a lot. It also help me to know some of the function of brain. Our brain is like a CPU, a processor, that wire through all of our senses, what we see , touch , hear, taste and smell. However, how much can we trust our brain? Can we do all task simultaneously? The documentary shows us 12 interactive experiments to see how easily our brain are tricked. Yes, i was also tricked. So, i found my eureka moments during the show. My eureka moments is the moments that i didn't see it coming.

Pay Attention

I am paying attention to the money because i imagine that the man was going to show me his magic tricks. Using my left brain hemisphere , i assume that the man are going to change the money, and he did it. I am so proud at the moment until....UEREKA!.. "Notice the change I've made during the magic tricks?" the man asked. Who would probably notice the change when you are so focus on the magic tricks? So i realised that a person brain can only focus on one thing.Yes, i didn't see that coming.

Now i know how pocket thieves steal money

When seeing the magic man easily trick the public by taking their belonging without even them noticing, something struck on my mind. That explain how pocket thieves steal money. By using a series of distraction, a person can take anything from someone without them noticing, if you are a profesional. Before i ever watched this video, my mindset always think that a pocket thieves steals someone wallets or handphone using some sort of witch craft, a spell bound. After watching this documentary, i realized that it is our brain that can't function well due to the distraction, letting us to focus on one thing only. Yes, i didn't see that coming.

Oh my Penguin!

The host ask the audience to count the times the blue Jabawaki dance crew enter the spotlight. I also anxiously take part in the games, assuming that he wanted to test the audience how much attention can we give during the dance. At the end of the dance, the host ask the audience " So , who notice the penguin during the dance". As shocked as anyone can be, i laugh to myself. How can the penguin be there even when i am so focusing on the video. Yet, the host showed me how our brain are easily tricked when we are focusing on something. Yes, i didn't see that coming.

I really didn't see that coming

The show talks about brain from the first minutes until the last, and i can't even notice the brain that appeared in every games. Well, i really didn't see that coming.
